Microsoft SongSmith: Remix to the Max

In an effort to compete with Apple's GarageBand, Microsoft has developed SongSmith. Users can record their voice and the software will generate background music and rhythm as it sees appropriate. Appropriate doesn't necessarily mean good, as people use the actual vocal tracks from songs such as "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and "White Wedding," input it into SongSmith and get drastic results.


Joybubbles


Josef Carl Engressia, Jr., more commonly known as Joybubbles, was a blind man who had perfect pitch and at the age of seven, accidentally discovered he could mimic the noise required to activate phone switches. He was essentially one of the world's first hackers and dabbled in phreaking, or phone hacking, but soon abandoned it after being charged and given a suspended sentence.

He finished his life in Minnesota as an avid Mr. Roger's fan.
